Greenwich Market (SE London)

Hello!
Here we are this week once again exploring markets in London.
The market I am writing about has a really special place in my heart...

It is probably the first market I have ever visited when I moved to London, moreover it has been the first market I worked at. I am talking about Greenwich Market.
Located in SE10, it offers a large variety of products such as art and crafts, militaria, vintage clothes, accessosries and hand-made old fashioned toys.
In addition to all the above, a big part of this market is street food.

The area of the market is developed on a covered square surrounded by shops, where the stalls in the north side are selling food, while the ones on the south side are dedicated to art and crafts. Due to the increase of demand for street food and the recent roof's restoration, a new area has been opened on the west side, where mainly you can find hot food, while cold food and drinks remain on the north side. This can be subject to changes depending on the days of the week or for logistic reasons.

This market is ideal for a picnic thanks to its beautiful location by the Royal park of Greenwich. It becomes really busy during weekends and in summer time with a lot of tourists looking for a tasty snack or buying an original souvenir after a visit at the Greenwich Observatory.

Greenwich market  is closed only on Mondays, however it remains open every day during summer time and special occasions. The market has now become a must-see for a visit in Greenwich. The royal borough is worth a visit because of numerous good restaurants and sights of interest such as the Cutty Sark, the famous Observatory and the Maritime Museum.

And for those who love cooking, I suggest taking a look at the accessories and tools for your kitchen and your home: some of them are really different and can be customised to your preference.

You must be curious enough by now so I don't want to add anything else........see you at Greenwich Market!

Mediterranean Paella

Hi guys!
As announced we are ready to explore the world of paella with "Mediterranean Paella", a trader that has brought to the London markets a delicious version of the well known Spanish food.
After giving a taste of it, if you ever tried this typical dish (which has many versions) in Spain, you will immediately recognise those flavours and almost feel like on holidays again!

The owner Fabio Severo is a professional trader who has been working in street food for several years, before starting his own businees in 2010.
I met him around tre years ago and we also collaborated for a short period, this is why I know with how much passion he prepares and cooks his paella, in my opinion, one of the best in London.

The choice is between 2-3 kinds of paella, depending on the markets. You will always find the chorizo and chicken for meat lovers and the vegetarian for those who want a meat free meal. They also make seafood paella on seasonal basis.

What I like about "Mediterranean Paella" is the right balance of spices that only give an extra push to the taste, without covering the flavour of the ingredients. The meat version is my favourite because I love how the soft chicken breast perfectly matches with the chorizo. The alternative for non-meat eaters is also great as it combines different kinds of fresh vegetables which are juicy and crunchy at the same time. If you happen to find the seafood one, don't miss the opportunity to try it...it's just delicious!

The guys are always serving with a smile, delivering great customer service with a fun atmosphere.

If you are getting hungry and would like to try it, you can find Mediterranean Paella @
Piccadilly Market on Mondays and Tuesdays
Russel Square on Saturdays
Sloane Square on the first Saturday of the month
Regent Place on the first Thursday of the month
Guildhall yard on the second Thursday of the month

Piccadilly Market (Central London)

Hi everyone, it's Sunday evening and most of you are starting to feel worried about the oncoming Monday, but not me.

I'm so excited! Tomorrow I will interview the traders of a food stall with a very mediterranean character...makes me think about holidays! But for now let's take a look at the market where I will meet them tomorrow.

I'm talking about Piccadilly Market, once best known for the beautiful art and crafts (you can find it from Wednesdays to Sartudays). For the last few years the market has expanded and included more and more food stalls and traders from all over the world (Mondays and Tuesdays).
The location is pretty interesting as the market is held in  the courtyard of The street is home to London’s finest men’s tailors, shirt makers, suppliers of leather goods, food and wine merchants, restaurants, hotels and art galleries.

Now if you happen to be in Piccadilly, in addition to a perfect tailored suit, you can get a delicious "tailor-made" lunch!

See you there....
